Weekend Intensive| Whips & Whippops, Pops & Icarians with AcroYoga Moves

by Lennert & Yvonne

23-24TH SEPTEMBER

Whips & Whippops Saturday @1.30pm-3.20pm & 3.40pm-5.30pm

Icarian Sunday @1.30pm-3.20pm & 3.40pm-5.30pm

This weekend was all about dynamic moves, like whips, whippops, pops and icarians. We learnt or solidify the fundamentals of these movements, and during the weekend we progressed and grew as a group towards a higher level.

ABOUT ACROYOGA MOVES

Lennert and Yvonne, who form AcroYoga Moves together, met in 2017 and they played some acroyoga the first time. They were both quite new to the practice, but both got an active background in sports and yoga. Ever since that day, they’re highly addicted to the practice. You’ll find them often at festivals, conventions and workshops to improve their skills, connect with others, and get inspired for their own classes and workshops.

In 2018 they both graduated from the AcroYoga Teacher Training (AYI). They have a huge love for flowy washing machines, whips & whippops and of course icarians.

Besides teaching at festivals and teaching regular classes and workshops, they’re the founders of Dutch AcroYoga Festival, which has been held since 2019 in different Dutch cities, several times a year.

Lennert & Yvonne have their own AcroYoga temple, a beautiful space in the centre of Leiden, where they organise regular classes, jams, and workshops both by themselves and by guest teachers! Feel welcome anytime!

AboUT THE TEACHERS

JORDÁN

Jordi liveS in Santiago city, Chile. He started practising circus arts (acrobatic cloth and juggling) in 2014. Over time he got familiar with hand-to-hand and standing acro and was captivated by it and began to further explore the discipline. In 2017 a friend introduced him to acroyoga and he loved it! He likes working on whi-pops, icarians and standing acrobatics. He is an acrolove certified teacher TT1. In Chile he works in a duo with Catalina Bustos, called “Duo Fury”. In Santiago, he teaches personalized classes in small groups. In addition, they lead workshops with Catalina and participate in events all around Chile and Argentina. Jordi truly enjoys meeting people and passing on what he has learnt throughout his years of experience.

CATALINA

Catalina has been doing acrobatics since 2016. In this short period, she has dabbled in the discipline of handstands and partner acrobatics. Acro changed her life and the way she communicate for the better (with more listening and love). In 2020 she became a certified acroyoga teacher with acrolove TT1. She is also an architect and she likes to draw a lot. In Chile they have a stunning acro community, our vision is to make it grow as much as we can. We are few but we are the most amazing family! With Jordán they had to learn many things by themselves and they are excited to share all this knowledge, always with the kindness and care that it takes. Even though now she teaches acroyoga, Catalina aways loves being a student too.

DUO LIQUEN

They have been practising as a duo for 2 years and recently created their duo profile @duoliquen

Nacho has more than 5 years of experience teaching environmental education in a school and movement in nature.

He first learned about acroyoga through his yoga practice in 2018 and since then, he decided to keep exploring the discipline and mobilizing people by creating the biggest jams and group events in Chile.

Pauli began practising acroyoga at a jam about 6 years ago and she hasn’t stopped since! Always looking for new and fun ways to fly and connect with people. She currently gives workshops and private classes in Santiago de Chile.

Many doors opened for them while travelling, from hosting workshops in different communities to learning new techniques and generating a valuable cultural and acrobatic exchange.

They love whip-pops and icarians. They have been researching the different timings and techniques that these skills require, and how to mix them all in fluid movements.

They would love to share their knowledge with you all.
